Dahlia Abstract is my interpretation of a bee’s eye view of a late summer dahlia, vibrantly glowing in the afternoon sun. I took this photograph up in Washington State, where dahlias flourish in the cool summers. As I walked through the dahlia beds shooting photos, bees buzzed happily around me, enthusiastically diving in and out of pollen-rich blossoms. Butterflies flitted from dahlia to dahlia, stopping to drink nectar from their favorite flowers. While this image doesn’t have either of these pollinators in it, it will always remind me of these wonderful insects which were so plentiful in the garden that day.
